These Granola Apple Moons are the perfect snack for kids of all ages. The combo of a crisp apple, nut butter, granola, and a little chocolate for fun provide plenty of energy for the little ones. And, kids love to help put these together.
1 large sliced apple
2 tablespoons nut butter (we like walnut butter!)*
1/2 cup low-fat granola
2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. Take each slice of apple and carefully spread a thin (or thick) layer of nut butter on each side.
2. Once each apple slice is coated with nut butter, sprinkle a little granola on each side.
3. For the final touch, add a few chocolate chips to each side of the apple and enjoy!

*If packing in a child’s lunchbox, make sure that the school allows nut products, or as an alternative use sunflower seed butter, sold at most grocery stores.
