It looks like the people at listened to the people complaining about being forced to download Safari. In a recent software update update (My last time, I promise), Apple made it so that there are software updates and new suggestions for software to download.
(Two non-iPhone posts in a row! Yay! We’re doing it!)
Apple released this security update for Leopard on March 26. It is described as:
“Security Update 2008-002 is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. Previous security updates have been incorporated into this security update.”
This update is only intended for Macs running Mac OS X 10.5.2 with Aperture 2.0 and Security Update 2008-002 installed, or Macs running OS X 10.5.2 but Security Update 2008-002 has not been installed.
This release updates a security software package that was distributed in the middle March and addresses reliability issues with the “Printer Settings” button in Aperture 2.0. No other applications besides Aperture 2.0 is affected.
The update will only appear for users who have Aperture installed.
About year ago, in May 2007, Steve Jobs published a letter regarding the environmental aspects of the company. At that time, Apple was the focus of an environmentalist group called Greenpeace, criticizing it about toxic chemicals in Apple’s products and not having pro-active recycling program for used Macs. Almost a year has passed and let’s see what Apple has done to be true to its word. (more…)
Apple fans in Hungary are taking their stand and are calling in the Mothership, Apple Inc. to invade their country. Unsatisfied with what’s going on in Hungary right now, Apple supporters are collectively contributing to their petition website in order to get the attention of a certain someone important in Cupertino. The iPhone SDK announcement last week was very welcoming but it left us with the question of when the WWDC 08 would take place. Today, Apple has given us the answer. The WWDC will run from the 9th - 13th of June at San Francisco’s Moscone Centre (West Hall). With three tracks (iPhone, Mac and IT). Developers and IT Pros definitely want to make it for this one. Students, try to get your hands on the available scholarships as each ticket runs for $1295 a pop. With that set pricing, guess which one of your favorite blogs wont be there? If you guessed us, you are right. Is a little love from Apple too much to ask for?
That sound that you heard before you came online and checked this entry was Apple’s lawyers running out the door. I’m not sure why they’re running instead of calling. And I’m not sure why your first thought after that was to read this. All I’m saying is that they could have at least run the demo on a PC to get a little distance between themselves and coverflow.
Macminicolo, a company that dedicates themselves to providing quality dedicated hosting (using only Mac minis of course), is running a contest that could land you some pretty sweet gear. Heck, you could even have your own Mac server if you win. The contest is also very simple as well, just answer this question for them: "What would you do with a remote mini?" Conquer the world? Hug it? Your call. If your idea is the best, you win this sweet prize pack which includes a Mac Mini, one year of free hosting, and a MacBook Air.

It looks like an Apple store is not only the best place to find Fidel or myself, but also the best place to find a guy in general. If you feel as though I’m randomly stating that, you couldn’t be more wrong. Visit Cosmo for the irrefutable evidence. Not only is the Apple store on the list, but it’s the first destination listed. In before the page break. Being cemented in Arial when the Eiffel Tower, strip clubs, and other romantic hotspots are nowhere to be seen.
Sorry guys, it doesn’t say where to find women. So I guess your best bet is to just iron your church clothes and check out the new Macbook Air.
