That’s right. Available now, both in stores and online, a newly updated iMac. Another Apple computer has moved past the fabled 3Ghz mark that was promised oh so long ago.

In other news, I didn’t post this the other day, but there was a glorious bit of Mac Pro news! The long-forgotten Mac has had an update. Not the machine itself, but older Mac Pros and even G5s.
Apple finally updated their drivers for the 8800GT so that you can drop them into an older machine. Yes, you can stop with your terminal modding, package modding, and other unsupported hacks. Apple has once again let the power user community that they don’t just work on iPhones. We’ll see you again in another eight months, guys.

Mac Mini: A New Hope

There were a lot of rumors over the past few years that the Mini would be removed from Apple’s product line. The Mini is Apple’s affordable Mac aimed at new users, as the company strives to sway a new generation of Switchers. So, as the bridge for Microsoft users to essentially cross when they want to experience the Mac side of things, my guess is that there will always be a budget product to fit that purpose.
