Flash Coming to the iPhone?

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

According to an official Apple shareholder’s meeting on Tuesday, the iPhone could soon have Flash support. Why is this important? Because Safari on the iPhone with Flash will provide us with more "Punch the Monkey" ads than ever before! On a more serious note, it would open up a whole new world of multimedia on the iPhone and would allow users to view flash videos, applications, and even web designs that need flash to operate. In other words, this is huge. Hopefully Apple can keep the monkey business to a minimum and get right to work alongside Adobe to make this a reality.

If you would like a more in-depth look into the situation along with more info on flash itself, visit our friends over at AppleInsider.

Mac Mini, Colo Hosting, and MacBook Air Up for Grabs

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Macminicolo, a company that dedicates themselves to providing quality dedicated hosting (using only Mac minis of course), is running a contest that could land you some pretty sweet gear. Heck, you could even have your own Mac server if you win. The contest is also very simple as well, just answer this question for them: "What would you do with a remote mini?" Conquer the world? Hug it? Your call. If your idea is the best, you win this sweet prize pack which includes a Mac Mini, one year of free hosting, and a MacBook Air.

Help desk: Fun with DMGs

A friend of mine has been stockpiling .dmg files and loading his applications thusly. After having him pull them out and place them in the applications folder and showing him that that was why some weren’t even loading, I decided to write a little .dmg tutorial.

Genius Bars better than regular bars?

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

It looks like an Apple store is not only the best place to find Fidel or myself, but also the best place to find a guy in general. If you feel as though I’m randomly stating that, you couldn’t be more wrong. Visit Cosmo for the irrefutable evidence.  Not only is the Apple store on the list, but it’s the first destination listed. In before the page break. Being cemented in Arial when the Eiffel Tower, strip clubs, and other romantic hotspots are nowhere to be seen.

Sorry guys, it doesn’t say where to find women. So I guess your best bet is to just iron your church clothes and check out the new Macbook Air.

Open iPhone SDK?

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I promise that we’ll eventually stop posting about the iPhone. But for now, we’re going to post about the iPhone…

Electronista is reporting that Apple’s inherent policy of ‘from my cold dead hands’ may be a little bit more lax when the iPhone SDK potentially rolls out this March. With the possibility of unchecked programs being traded about at no cost, there should be a surge of new software to take advantage of your favorite gadget to show off.

By the way, prior to previous statements, we’re more than likely never going to stop posting news about the iPhone. But hey, you go and try and find Mac Mini news. It’s not easy.
