iPhone and Jailbreak

‘Barpro’ from our forums has asked about jailbreaking the iPhone and where to pick up the latest and greatest tools/applications.

Conveniently enough, in today’s news we have a related topic.

Apparently the iPhone dev team has managed to jailbreak the phone’s 2.0 software before it even came out. Mind you, this is not the built in application for the SDK. It is an early release beta that is to go out to businesses and enterprises for beta testing networks/email. The current state of the software more than likely does not have any real bearing on the final release of 2.0.
With that said, we may have a while to wait for the release (which right now is only good for non-AT&T phones, but they mention an AT&T enabled fix soon) as this is the team that did not release a 1.2 jailbreak solution. They chose to wait for the SDK and other enterprisers rushed in and filled the niche.

The 2.0 software will include enterprising solutions for email, security, parental controls, 802.1x support, support for SDK applications, and more.
