Let’s face it. The iPhone is a very distracting mobile device. With its interactive touch screen and all of its cool apps, it is really hard to look away, let alone put it down. The worst part is that like most mobile devices, we depend solely on our visual senses to operate it. Clearly, this becomes a problem while driving through rush hour traffic and attempting to text your buddy, who happens to be in the adjacent lane.

So after months of adding up pros and cons and tossing in your sleep, you finally did it. You made the switch to Apple from the familiar world of Windows. No longer do you have the security blanket of 1000’s of programs and hkeys that made XP so soft and fluffy.

The speculations for this Tuesday where confirmed today when Apple announced the release of the new MacBook and MacBook Pros featuring the Penryn Core 2 Duo processors. Along with that, the MacBook now comes with a 2.1 GHz processor and a 120GB Hard drive, all standard for the base model. The processor can be upgraded all the way up to 2.4 GHz and you can get a Blackbook with an insane 250GB Hard drive if you so desire. As for the MacBook Pros, the processor speeds now start at 2.4 GHz and can go all the way up to 2.6 GHz. The 17′ inch model starts at 2.5 GHz and now comes with a LED Backlit screen option. Also to note, a much bigger hard drive weighing in at 200GB, a Multi-touch trackpad, and 256MB of VRAM for the included Nvidia 8600GT all come standard with the new MBP.
The only disappointing thing about these new Macs is the fact that Apple now forces you to pay $19 for an Apple Remote as they are not included in the box anymore.
You heard it right! Amazon is dishing out an offer that will get you a free Shuffle with every 32GB iPod Touch purchase.
If you are interested in this offer, simply add both items to your cart and you will not be charged for your Shuffle according to Amazon’s ad.
Here it is straight from Amazon. ” You qualify for a free 1 GB iPod shuffle with the purchase of this 32 GB iPod touch from Amazon.com. Eligible 1 GB shuffles include the blue, green, silver, and purple. Just add both items to your cart and you will not be charged for the shuffle. ”
This is good news but I am more excited for what is going to be announced today…. since it is Tuesday and everything. As soon as we hear anything we will post and let you all know so make sure to check back!
Even though there are no known viruses for the Mac at the moment, you never know when something could pop up and cause trouble. With that said, it is always better to be safe than sorry and if staying protected also comes at no expense, there really should be no excuse for us Mac users. If you are still without an anti-virus, get protected for free by downloading ClamXav. Let’s not forget that even though viruses don’t affect Macs, they can still be passed on from your computer to windows users. Like I said before it is absolutely free to download and it could save you and your friends with Windows a lot of headaches in the future.
Although we are a bit upset that we did not receive an invitation to the festivities, we wish only the best to Apple CEO Steve Jobs as he celebrates his 53rd birthday and wish him many more successful years with Apple. Happy Birthday from all of us at AppletizeMe.Com Steve, maybe an invitation to your 54th birthday celebration is not too far fetched?
